The ongoing US Government shutdown means the vast majority of regular economic data released by the US government will be delayed and most existing figures have not been updated.
Possible influence: Volatile US Dollar, Gold and US Stocks
The APEC event will take place in South Korea and will gather global political and economic leaders (finance ministers, leaders of industry) to discuss business and trade (including energy, AI etc) and is attended by global leaders led by President Trump and President Xi of China who met on October 30. Other invited leaders include Presidents of Canada, Australia, Mexico, South Korea, Singapore, among others.
Possible Influence: Gold, Silver, Palladium, Platinum, Copper and Oil
Eight OPEC+ members (including Russia) will hold their monthly meeting to discuss and set voluntary production levels from December. According to early reports, the cartel may add less to production levels than November’s increase of 137,000.
Possible Influence: Volatile Crude oil
The 3rd Quarter earnings season continues in November with over a third of companies to report.
Of the major companies, Palantir (November 3rd), ARM (November 5th), AMD (November 4th, Walt Disney (November 13th) and NVIDIA (November 19th) among others, will post results.

The ISM Manufacturing PMI previous print was 49.1. The number was slightly higher than the expected 49.0.

The RBA will meet to decide on interest rates. The current rate is 3.6%.

In the absence of official NFP and Unemployment Rate data due to the ongoing government shutdown, markets are expected to rely on the private ADP Nonfarm Employment Change report for October. Last month, the ADP report showed a decline of 32,000 jobs, missing expectations for an increase of 52,000.

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England will meet to decide on interest rates. The current rate is 4.00% and expectations are rates are likely to remain at that level.

The annual Tesla shareholders meeting is shaping up to be crucial. The results of a vote on three major plans Tesla says will launch its next era of growth will be revealed. There will also be a critical vote on CEO Elon Musk’s pay. These votes will decide on the future direction of the company.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit will be held in South Africa and will gather the world’s leaders from the 20 largest economies. This year’s event is entitled “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability” but global economic challenges and geopolitical tensions will influence the agenda.
