Tesla Q4 Global Car deliveries are set to be posted in the first week of January.
Possible influence: Tesla stock
Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the UAE, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman will meet on Sunday, January 4. At their last meeting in December, the group decided to make no changes to production policy for Q1 2026.

The ISM Manufacturing PMI previous print was 48.2. The number was lower than the expected 49.0.

The previous month (November) saw unemployment at 4.6%. Nonfarm Payrolls for the previous month (November) printed 64,000.

CES is an annual trade show held in Las Vegas where major companies host presentations of new products and technologies. This year Dr Lira Su, CEO of AMD will open the event with a keynote speech and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will also speak (on January 5: pre-show media day) and may unveil new products and speak about AI.
Possible Influence: Tech linked Stocks / NVIDIA, AMD, Intel
The 4th Quarter earnings season kicks off in January, with the banks starting off.
Of the major companies, JP Morgan (January 13th), Goldman Sachs (January 15th), Netflix (January 20th), Tesla (January 28th) and Apple (January 29th) are expected to declare their earnings.

Core CPI (excluding food and energy) was 2.6%, Year-on-Year in November. Top-line Year on Year CPI for November came in at 2.7%, below expectations.

The World Economic Forum takes place in Davos, Switzerland and will bring together world leaders, world business leaders, academia and the media to discuss global issues. The guest list includes President Trump and many other heads of states from Europe and other countries. They will discuss geopolitical issues including topics such as AI.

The Federal Open Market Committee of the U.S. The Federal Reserve will conclude its 2-day meeting to decide on interest rates. The current rate is 3.75%, after a 25-basis point cut in December. Analysts expect the rate may remain at 3.75%, but there is a small chance that rates could be cut by 25 basis points.

The Bank of Japan will meet to set its interest rates. In December the bank raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 0.75%. There is a possibility that rates might be increased by another 0.25% at this meeting.
Possible Influence: Volatile USD/JPY
The Bank of Canada will meet to set interest rates. They are currently 2.25% after a rate cut of 25 basis points in October. In December rates were unchanged. The bank is most likely to keep rates unchanged, although a rate cut may take place later this year.
